we are all wishing
upon stars that are faces
of people who we want to love

and these feelings
are so important that
we hide behind closed doors
desperate to break in
with cowardly hearts that cannot

running from our past
but its the present we can't face
spitting back at us like venom
and pretending we are wondrously
taken away by a morning ocean mist
